Catching Mebulys

You catch wild Mebulys with a crystal – the game calls this sealing. How to pick the right crystal and improve your chances.

You have to catch almost every new Mebuly yourself – the game calls this sealing. It only works in battles against wild Mebulys. The Mebulys of trainers and masters belong to them and stay with them.

How to seal a Mebuly

Weaken the wild Mebuly with your attacks – but do not knock it out. A defeated Mebuly can no longer be sealed.
Open your items during the battle, pick a crystal and throw it at the wild Mebuly.
If it works, the game says “… has been sealed” and the battle is over. If it fails, the crystal is used up, the throw has cost you time and the battle goes on.

Which crystal should you use?

The basic crystals are sorted by level. According to the game, the Kioo dhaifu has good chances up to level 15, the Kioo kilichoimarishwa up to level 25, the Kioo imara up to level 35 and the Kioo chenye nguvu with Mebulys of any level. Above these limits they hardly ever work. As a general rule: the higher the wild Mebuly's level, the harder it is to seal.

There is also an element crystal for each of the twelve types, which seals Mebulys of that type with a higher probability. For Mebulys with two types, it is enough if one of them matches. You can see which crystal belongs to which type under Crystals. Finally, the Kioo cha fumbo seals any Mebuly for sure (100%).

Tips for more success

The less health the wild Mebuly has left, the better your chances. Wear it down carefully, for example with weaker attacks once it is badly hurt.
A cheap crystal is enough for low levels. For high levels you need a stronger one or a matching element crystal – and a bit of luck is always part of it. Better pack a few extra crystals.
You can catch every species as often as you like. A Mebuly's peculiarity is decided at random when you catch it – so a second one may turn out stronger than the first (Peculiarity).

Your new Mebuly joins your team if there is a free slot, otherwise it goes to the Bank. You catch it in exactly the form you met it in – evolved Mebulys too. However, it always starts at level 5, no matter at which level you caught it.
