Settings

Where to find the settings, what each section contains and how to back them up and take them to other devices.

You open the settings with the gear at the top right, or with Esc when no window is open. You can also reach the settings on the character selection – handy if the game ever does not run smoothly.

The sections

  • Account: login name, global ID, character and character ID, realm, language and the saving method of your settings (Account Management).
  • Game: whether and how other players are shown – also simplified or friends only –, player names, different cloud colours and the quick menu.
  • Control: keys and gamepad (Controls).
  • System / Graphics: frame rate, view range, effects and more (Graphics & Performance).
  • Sound: music, effects and music quality (Music & Sound).
  • Chat: your chat consent, which channels you see, chat during battle, fight log, time stamps, text size and colours (Chat).
  • Export / Import: back up, transfer and reset your settings – see below.
  • Support and Feedback: your line to the team (Support & Feedback).
  • Twitch Drops: only in the Steam version – shows whether BITMEUP and Twitch are linked (Linked Accounts).
  • Log out: back to the character selection.

Backing up and moving your settings

The game stores your settings in your browser. The Account section shows which method is used under “Saving method”. If you delete your browser data or play on another device, the default values apply again.

  • Save / load settings: you can store one set of your settings on the Mebula servers and load it again on any device. Only one set is ever stored.
  • Export / import: save your settings as a file and read them in again in another browser or on another computer. Importing overwrites your current settings.
  • Reset: puts everything back to the default values – the quick rescue if something goes wrong after lots of changes.
