The duckling Batali (maji and ndege) waddles across your path on the very first islands – tough, hard to hit and quite different later on.

Bata bata Batali anapenda kutembea na kuchezea mawimbi katika maji ya eneo la Mebu. Inapenda kulishwa mkate na kupewa umakini. Lakini bado maadui zake wanapaswa kuwa waangalifu.

In battle

Batali is more of a defender than an attacker: decent health, a high Ki defense (Ki is shown as “AI” in the game) and a good evasion chance make it tough. Its Ki attack, on the other hand, is among the weakest in the game. It is very vulnerable to umeme attacks but immune to ardhi attacks.

Where to find it and evolution

Batali is one of the most common companions early on: you'll meet it often on the maps Green Island and Route 1, and occasionally on Route 2, Route 3, Route 4 and in the forests. From level 28 you can evolve it into Batajeu – and its ndege type turns into akili!
