Mallarid

The duckling Mallarid (water and flight) waddles across your path on the very first islands – tough, hard to hit and quite different later on.

The duckling Mallarid and ripples likes to waddle and ripple in the waters of Mebu region. It likes to be fed with bread and being given attention. But still his enemies should be careful.

In battle

Mallarid is more of a defender than an attacker: decent health, a high Ki defense (Ki is shown as “AI” in the game) and a good evasion chance make it tough. Its Ki attack, on the other hand, is among the weakest in the game. It is very vulnerable to electric attacks but immune to earth attacks.

Where to find it and evolution

Mallarid is one of the most common companions early on: you'll meet it often on the maps Green Island and Route 1, and occasionally on Route 2, Route 3, Route 4 and in the forests. From level 28 you can evolve it into Platydrool – and its flight type turns into psy!
