Starter Mebulys

Leaf, fire or water: the three starter Mebulys compared – strengths, weaknesses, evolutions and tips for your choice.

When you create your character, you choose one of three starter Mebulys: Klíčík of type list, Plamínek of type oheň or Kapínek of type voda. All three evolve twice – at level 20 and at level 40 – and gain a second type in their final form.

The type triangle

The three form a classic triangle: list attacks work well against voda, voda attacks work well against oheň and oheň attacks work well against list. Against Mebulys of its own type, on the other hand, each starter achieves little. You find the full chart under Types and type chart.

The three compared

Klíčík is an attacker: lots of attack power, but little defense. Its final form Stromus is one of the hardest hitters in the game and has lots of health, but it is very slow. Klíčík is weak against oheň, let and led. Stromus is immune to elektrický, but let attacks hit it very hard.

Plamínek has good attack values and the highest critical hit chance of the three. Its final form Plamvír becomes very fast and strong in Ki attack (Ki is shown as “AI” in the game). Plamínek is weak against voda, skála and země. Plamvír is immune to země, but skála attacks hit it very hard.

Kapínek is the sturdy one: high defense, but less attack power. Kapulus brings lots of health, and the final form Mračoun is balanced and well protected. Kapínek is weak against list and elektrický. Mračoun is immune to země, but elektrický attacks hit it very hard.

What does this mean for the first masters?

The first master (Mistr Nibori) relies mainly on Mebulys of type let: they hurt Klíčík badly, while Plamínek withstands them well. With the second master (Kohana) everything revolves around list – here Plamínek shines and Kapínek has a hard time. The third master (Mistryně Nami) fights with voda: now Klíčík has the advantage and Plamínek the disadvantage.

Your choice is not final: you can get the other two starter Mebulys later in the shop as companions for gold (Mebulys in the shop). By the way, starter Mebulys and their evolutions cannot be released – they stay loyal to you.
