Starter Mebulys

Leaf, fire or water: the three starter Mebulys compared – strengths, weaknesses, evolutions and tips for your choice.

When you create your character, you choose one of three starter Mebulys: कोंपली of type पत्ता, लपटी of type आग or बूंदी of type पानी. All three evolve twice – at level 20 and at level 40 – and gain a second type in their final form.

कोंपली → बिरवा → तरुराज (पत्ता and धरती)
लपटी → दहकू → अंगारवात (आग and उड़ान)
बूंदी → बूंदस → मेघराज (पानी and उड़ान)

The type triangle

The three form a classic triangle: पत्ता attacks work well against पानी, पानी attacks work well against आग and आग attacks work well against पत्ता. Against Mebulys of its own type, on the other hand, each starter achieves little. You find the full chart under Types and type chart.

The three compared

कोंपली is an attacker: lots of attack power, but little defense. Its final form तरुराज is one of the hardest hitters in the game and has lots of health, but it is very slow. कोंपली is weak against आग, उड़ान and बर्फ़. तरुराज is immune to इलेक्ट्रिक, but उड़ान attacks hit it very hard.

लपटी has good attack values and the highest critical hit chance of the three. Its final form अंगारवात becomes very fast and strong in Ki attack (Ki is shown as “AI” in the game). लपटी is weak against पानी, चट्टान and धरती. अंगारवात is immune to धरती, but चट्टान attacks hit it very hard.

बूंदी is the sturdy one: high defense, but less attack power. बूंदस brings lots of health, and the final form मेघराज is balanced and well protected. बूंदी is weak against पत्ता and इलेक्ट्रिक. मेघराज is immune to धरती, but इलेक्ट्रिक attacks hit it very hard.

What does this mean for the first masters?

The first master (मास्टर निबोरी) relies mainly on Mebulys of type उड़ान: they hurt कोंपली badly, while लपटी withstands them well. With the second master (कोहाना) everything revolves around पत्ता – here लपटी shines and बूंदी has a hard time. The third master (मास्टर नामी) fights with पानी: now कोंपली has the advantage and लपटी the disadvantage.

Your choice is not final: you can get the other two starter Mebulys later in the shop as companions for gold (Mebulys in the shop). By the way, starter Mebulys and their evolutions cannot be released – they stay loyal to you.
