Starter Mebulys

When you create your character, you choose one of three starter Mebulys: Ростик of type лист, Жарик of type огонь or Капелик of type вода. All three evolve twice – at level 20 and at level 40 – and gain a second type in their final form.

• Ростик → Побегуш → Кронус (лист and земля)
• Жарик → Полыхан → Огневерть (огонь and полет)
• Капелик → Брызгулус → Тучан (вода and полет)

The type triangle

The three form a classic triangle: лист attacks work well against вода, вода attacks work well against огонь and огонь attacks work well against лист. Against Mebulys of its own type, on the other hand, each starter achieves little. You find the full chart under Types and type chart.

The three compared

Ростик is an attacker: lots of attack power, but little defense. Its final form Кронус is one of the hardest hitters in the game and has lots of health, but it is very slow. Ростик is weak against огонь, полет and лед. Кронус is immune to электрический, but полет attacks hit it very hard.

Жарик has good attack values and the highest critical hit chance of the three. Its final form Огневерть becomes very fast and strong in Ki attack (Ki is shown as “AI” in the game). Жарик is weak against вода, камень and земля. Огневерть is immune to земля, but камень attacks hit it very hard.

Капелик is the sturdy one: high defense, but less attack power. Брызгулус brings lots of health, and the final form Тучан is balanced and well protected. Капелик is weak against лист and электрический. Тучан is immune to земля, but электрический attacks hit it very hard.

What does this mean for the first masters?

The first master (Мастер Нибори) relies mainly on Mebulys of type полет: they hurt Ростик badly, while Жарик withstands them well. With the second master (Кохана) everything revolves around лист – here Жарик shines and Капелик has a hard time. The third master (Мастер Нами) fights with вода: now Ростик has the advantage and Жарик the disadvantage.

Your choice is not final: you can get the other two starter Mebulys later in the shop as companions for gold (Mebulys in the shop). By the way, starter Mebulys and their evolutions cannot be released – they stay loyal to you.
