Starter Mebulys

When you create your character, you choose one of three starter Mebulys: 嫩叶仔 of type 叶子, 焰宝仔 of type 火 or 雨滴滴 of type 水. All three evolve twice – at level 20 and at level 40 – and gain a second type in their final form.

• 嫩叶仔 → 茂叶郎 → 冠叶王 (叶子 and 大地)
• 焰宝仔 → 焰烈郎 → 焰旋风 (火 and 飞行)
• 雨滴滴 → 雨洒洒 → 雨云王 (水 and 飞行)

The type triangle

The three form a classic triangle: 叶子 attacks work well against 水, 水 attacks work well against 火 and 火 attacks work well against 叶子. Against Mebulys of its own type, on the other hand, each starter achieves little. You find the full chart under Types and type chart.

The three compared

嫩叶仔 is an attacker: lots of attack power, but little defense. Its final form 冠叶王 is one of the hardest hitters in the game and has lots of health, but it is very slow. 嫩叶仔 is weak against 火, 飞行 and 冰. 冠叶王 is immune to 电, but 飞行 attacks hit it very hard.

焰宝仔 has good attack values and the highest critical hit chance of the three. Its final form 焰旋风 becomes very fast and strong in Ki attack (Ki is shown as “AI” in the game). 焰宝仔 is weak against 水, 岩石 and 大地. 焰旋风 is immune to 大地, but 岩石 attacks hit it very hard.

雨滴滴 is the sturdy one: high defense, but less attack power. 雨洒洒 brings lots of health, and the final form 雨云王 is balanced and well protected. 雨滴滴 is weak against 叶子 and 电. 雨云王 is immune to 大地, but 电 attacks hit it very hard.

What does this mean for the first masters?

The first master (尼泊大师) relies mainly on Mebulys of type 飞行: they hurt 嫩叶仔 badly, while 焰宝仔 withstands them well. With the second master (小花) everything revolves around 叶子 – here 焰宝仔 shines and 雨滴滴 has a hard time. The third master (娜美大师) fights with 水: now 嫩叶仔 has the advantage and 焰宝仔 the disadvantage.

Your choice is not final: you can get the other two starter Mebulys later in the shop as companions for gold (Mebulys in the shop). By the way, starter Mebulys and their evolutions cannot be released – they stay loyal to you.
